An International Observers Perspective to Senator Ahmed Yerima and Pedophilia

it is not News that Polygamy is Widely Practiced and accepted in Africa , Nigeria and especially Northern Nigeria, but it is definitely News that currently serving Nigerian Senator , Ahmed Yerima Aged 50 Years .to a 13 year old Egyptian girl ,Reportedly  the Daughter of his Driver , whom he Allegedly Paid $100,000 (One Hundred Thousand Dollars) as the Bride Price ..
      
Various Women Groups and Anti-Child Molestation groups have come out to condemn the Action of Senator Yerima , who vehemently Denies that he is doing anything wrong as he buttressed his point with his religious beliefs he said “I am only following Prophet Mohamed’s footsteps who married a nine-year-old girl, Aishatu,”“I have not done anything that violates Sharia, so I am not bothered about anything if anybody accuses me and I don’t think I have committed any offence.”..

THOUGHTS ON SENATOR AHMED YERIMA AND HIS THIRTEEN YEAR OLD BRIDE.

It is not about religion-it is child rape.an incomprehensible justification utilizing a prophets actions has been used by Ahmed Yerima in an attempt to not only justify but to also minimalise the abhorence of his actions. To pay for and then marry a thirteen year old girl is repugnant. Not to mention he is an elected representative. History repeats because those in power make it repeat. Not very comforting having knowledge that your senator is a pedophile- a proud child rapist who utilises religion to mitigate his actions. This is not a religious debate. This is about abuse, abuse of power and abuse of spirit. The bible also talks of selling children to slavery- not ok! It is not ok to misuse and reappropriate religion to meet your own needs. This example is not your ordinary case of child sexual abuse with grooming, promises, threats and secrets- this is public. There is no remorse, no reflection and no guilt.

                    This man has married a child and thinks it is alright. Marry who you want, that is not the issue. Marriage however, must be consensual in the arrangenment and safe in the conditions of that marriage. Neither of these factors are evident, because she is a CHILD! Some things are universal, some are not. No one religion is universal nor fact. Child sexual abuse does not discriminate. It crosses cultures, festers in all levels of society and across age spectrums. Child sexual abuse kills the adult to be. It kills healthy development into adulthood. The social fabric of a society is destroyed: suicide, depression, drug and alcohol abuse have all been linked to sexual abuse. There are no excuses for child abuse, there are no excuses for trafficking children.  

THIS MAN SHOULD BE IN JAIL NOT PARLIAMENT !!!!!

p.s :-Under Nigeria’s national Child Rights Act of 2003, the legal age for anyone to get married is 18-years-old. Egyptian law also forbids marriage where the man is more than 25 years older than the woman
